The Federal Government has introduced a new credit scheme, “Fly Now, Pay Later,” to make domestic air travel more affordable for Nigerians.

The initiative was announced by the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation, which said eligible users can book local flights and repay the cost over time through structured financing.

According to the agency, the scheme is designed to remove the burden of upfront payment that often prevents Nigerians from making urgent or important trips.

CREDICORP added that the programme is being implemented in partnership with MyVisaro and Alert Microfinance Bank to expand access to consumer credit.

The move comes amid rising airfares across Nigeria, driven by increased aviation fuel costs, foreign exchange challenges, and other operational expenses, which have made domestic travel difficult for many citizens.

The corporation said the initiative is part of its broader efforts to improve financial inclusion and give Nigerians easier access to essential services.
