Angela Okorie accuses Zubby Michael of using her ‘Queen of Guns’ movie title
Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has accused fellow actor Zubby Michael of being involved in the use of the title of her unreleased movie, Queen of Guns, for another film.
Okorie made the allegation in a video shared on social media, claiming that she invested almost ₦100 million in her Queen of Guns project and had trademarked the title.
The actress said her movie has not been released on YouTube, Netflix, cinemas, or any other platform. According to her, she planned to have her fans in Manchester be the first audience to see the film before taking it to other cities.
Okorie alleged that an older movie was uploaded on YouTube under the Queen of Guns title, with promotional images from her own project used on the poster.
She also directly questioned Michael over the alleged use of the title, saying he had worked on the other movie under a different working title.
“Even Zubby, you accepted that kind of thing. How dare you? You shot a movie with a working title. Why did you not use your working title to push your work?” she said.
Okorie said she had trademarked Queen of Guns specifically to protect the title and expressed frustration that another production was allegedly being promoted using it.
“I spent more than ₦100 million on the project, and mine is trademarked,” she said.
The actress also maintained that her Queen of Guns project is yet to be officially released, despite the existence of films carrying the same title online.
