Angélique Kidjo Announces New Album ‘Hope,’ Features Davido and Ayra Starr
Legendary Beninese singer Angélique Kidjo has announced the release of her upcoming album titled Hope, scheduled to drop on April 24, 2026.
The 14-track project is a deeply personal one for the Grammy-winning artist, as it is dedicated to her late mother, Yvonne, who passed away five years ago. According to Kidjo, the album carries a message of resilience and optimism inspired by the lessons her mother taught her.
Taking to Instagram to share the news, the singer revealed that the album has been in the works for five years.
“Hope, dedicated to my mother Yvonne, is coming out on April 24,” she wrote. “She taught me that every dream I had could be achieved, and that hope for a better future is what makes us human. Though she passed away five years ago, her message still lives on today.”
The album features an impressive lineup of collaborators from Africa and across the globe. Nigerian music stars Davido and Ayra Starr appear on the project, alongside highlife duo The Cavemen.
International artists also contributing to the album include Pharrell Williams and legendary guitarist Nile Rodgers, among several other musicians.
Kidjo expressed gratitude to all the artists who contributed to the project, noting that she poured her “whole heart” into creating the album.
Fans can expect Hope to arrive on streaming platforms worldwide on April 24.
