Blessing CEO Bags N20m Bail As N69m Fraud Case Drags On
The Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja has granted social media influencer Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, bail in the sum of N20 million over an alleged N69.15 million fraud.
Justice Rahman Oshodi granted the bail on Thursday. At the center of the case is a property deal the EFCC says went wrong; the commission alleges Okoro told Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited she owned a house on Tunbosun Osobu Street in Lekki and got the company to pay N69,150,000 for a five-year lease on it in March 2025, then converted the money to personal use. She has pleaded not guilty to both the stealing and false pretence counts against her.
The prosecution raised no objection to bail, but Oshodi said that didn't relieve the court of its duty to independently weigh the seriousness of the allegations and the punishment prescribed by law before granting release.
The bail comes with conditions. Okoro needs two sureties, each matching the N20 million amount and each required to show three years of bank statements or a fixed deposit worth at least that sum. She and her sureties must also clear screening through the Lagos Judiciary's Bail Information Management System.
There was also a passport issue. When the court asked for Okoro's international passport, her lawyers presented an affidavit claiming it had been lost, along with a public notice to that effect. Oshodi ordered that immigration authorities be notified to restrict her travel until the matter is resolved.
Trial continues on October 12.
Okoro is also fighting a separate N36 million fraud charge at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, where she was granted N10 million bail in June.
