Burna Boy has crossed four billion views on YouTube, becoming the first Nigerian and Sub-Saharan African artist to reach the figure on the platform.

The milestone was recorded across videos on the singer’s official YouTube channel, with some of his biggest songs accounting for a significant share of the views.

His 2018 hit ‘On the Low’, ‘Ye’, ‘Last Last’ and his Ed Sheeran collaboration ‘For My Hand’ are among the songs that have attracted hundreds of millions of views on the platform.

Burna Boy had previously made history in 2021 when he became the first Nigerian artist to surpass one billion views on YouTube.

Five years later, the singer has quadrupled that figure, extending his record as one of the most-watched Nigerian artists on the platform.

Burna Boy rose to stardom in 2012 after releasing “Like to Party”, the lead single from his debut studio album L.I.F.E (2013). He has gone on to win awards among awards like the Best International Act at the 2019 BET Awards, Apple Music Up Next artist, among others. His fourth studio album African Giant  was released in July 2019; it won Album of the Year at the 2019 All Africa Music Awards and was nominated for a Best World Music Album at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards.
