Call of My Life, a romantic comedy produced by Blessing Uzzi, has become Nigeria's highest-grossing film so far in 2026, earning N817.6 million at the box office.

The film is now closing in on N1 billion, which would make it the first Nollywood title released outside the December window to hit that mark.

Distributed by FilmOne Entertainment, the film overtook the previous 2026 record held by Michael, the Michael Jackson biopic, after 11 weeks in cinemas. It now holds several distinctions for the year: highest-grossing Nollywood title, biggest BluHouse Studios production, highest-grossing romantic comedy, biggest May release, and top-performing film overall.

The achievement stands out because Call of My Life opened in May, a period that has historically underperformed compared to the December holiday season, when most Nollywood blockbusters are timed for release.

The film has sold more than 123,000 tickets, the highest admissions total for any 2026 release, with its box office growth driven largely by word-of-mouth rather than a festive release calendar.

Directed by Dammy Twitch, it opened on May 15 with N76.9 million and grew its earnings steadily in the weeks that followed. The cast includes Uzoamaka Power, Andrew Yaw Bunting, Zubby Michael and Broda Shaggi.
