Dave adds Zaylevelten to lineup for first-ever Lagos headline shows
British-Nigerian rapper Dave has added Nigerian rapper and producer Zaylevelten to the lineup for his first headline concerts in Lagos.
Zaylevelten will perform as a supporting act at Dave’s two-night show on October 16 and 17 at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, formerly the National Theatre.
The Lagos concerts will bring Dave’s ‘The Boy Who Played the Harp’ tour to an end. His official tour schedule lists the October 16 and 17 performances at the National Theatre as his final dates, following earlier shows in Pretoria and Cape Town.
The shows will also be Dave’s first headline performances in Nigeria. The London-born rapper, whose parents are from Nigeria, announced the Lagos dates in June after initially leaving Nigeria out of the tour schedule.
Dave’s Nigerian connection has also featured in his music. He worked with Burna Boy on “Location” and later collaborated with Tems on “Raindance”, which appeared on his 2025 album ‘The Boy Who Played the Harp’.
The Lagos dates followed a 102-day campaign by a Nigerian fan on X. Posting under the name Triidee, the fan repeatedly asked Dave to include Nigeria on the tour, continuing the campaign even after the rapper announced shows in South Africa.
On the 102nd day, Dave announced the Lagos concerts and responded to the fan: “My brother. Your watch has ended.” The two shows were subsequently confirmed for October 16 and 17.
Dave released ‘The Boy Who Played the Harp’, his third studio album, in October 2025. The album followed ‘Psychodrama’ and ‘We’re All Alone in This Together’, both of which reached No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart.
The upcoming Lagos concerts will close the current tour with Zaylevelten joining Dave for both nights at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts.
