Mavin Records founder Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has said Ayra Starr changed his life after he discovered her through an Instagram freestyle.

Don Jazzy made the comment on X while responding to a fan who praised his role in the singer’s career.

“She has most definitely changed my own life too. I bless the day i was shown her instagram freestyle o. And she has been nothing but a dream Starrgirl,” he wrote.

The exchange drew reactions from fans, with one user describing Don Jazzy as instrumental to Ayra Starr’s rise. Ayra Starr also responded to his post with emotional emojis.

Don Jazzy has previously revealed that he discovered Ayra Starr after seeing one of her freestyle videos on Instagram.

The music executive said the video caught his attention and prompted him to reach out to the then-upcoming singer. When she did not respond to his message, he contacted her brother after seeing him in one of her social media posts signing her into Mavin Records three days later.

The singer joined Mavin in 2020 at 18 and went on to release her debut EP, Ayra Starr, in 2021. She followed it with her debut album, 19 & Dangerous, that same year.

She has since produced international hits including “Rush” and “Bloody Samaritan”, while most of her songs has earned her Grammy nominations.
