Popular social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) has narrated how officers of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command assisted a mentally unstable woman in delivering her baby safely.

The incident occurred in the early hours of April 3, 2026, during a routine surveillance patrol by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Kwaita village, Kwali Area Council. At about 12:20 a.m., the officers heard loud cries from the roadside and quickly responded. They discovered the woman already in labour.

The FCT Police Command confirmed that information about the situation reached them around 12:30 a.m. The Officer-in-Charge of the Gender Unit at Kwali Division immediately mobilised a team to the scene. The officers provided timely assistance and ensured the woman delivered the baby safely.

VDM praised the police officers for their compassion and quick action. He described the moment as a display of humanity amid heightened security measures ahead of the Easter celebrations. In appreciation, VDM pledged to sponsor the child’s education from primary school through university.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident in an official statement, noting that the officers acted promptly to support the woman.

This act of kindness by the FCT Police has been widely commended online, highlighting the human side of security personnel often seen only in their enforcement roles. Both mother and baby are reported to be safe following the roadside delivery.
