Musician Femi Kuti has said he does not want to be pulled into any online controversy involving celebrity dancer Korra Obidi.

Kuti commented while humorously declining to take a photo with Obidi after a live concert in Lagos. The moment followed backlash over Obidi's twerking tribute at Fela Kuti's gravesite during a visit in December 2025, which drew mixed reactions online after Seun Kuti, Fela's youngest son, publicly praised the gesture as being in keeping with his father's spirit.

In an Instagram video shared by Obidi on Friday, Femi Kuti said he already has enough on his plate without adding unnecessary drama.

Calling on his elder sister, Yeni Kuti, to join the photo instead, he said: "YK come and enter this picture, I don't want any problems in my life. I have enough problems. Seems the gods don't even want this picture; that's why it's raining."

Captioning the video, Obidi wrote: "Uncle Femi doesn't want Wahala. Yesterday after my private Live concert, I met the legends @femiakuti and @yeniakuti. At Legacy Studios. I am so honored. Thank you @bigbirdkuti."

The encounter comes months after the gravesite tribute split opinion across Nigerian social media. Obidi had described the twerking as an offering to Fela, referencing his reputation for embracing dance and unconventional expression. While Seun Kuti backed the gesture at the time, calling it aligned with his father's legacy, many online users criticized it as disrespectful to a burial site.
