Comedian and content creator Sydney Talker has revealed in a video posted to his Instagram page that July 27 will mark exactly four years since he last shared a bed with a woman, a stretch of celibacy he says has tested him but ultimately paid off.

"The 27th of this month will make it four years of celibacy for me. Technically, what I am trying to say is I have not slept on the same bed with a woman for the past four years," he said. "It has not been easy, but I thank God."

Talker, born Sydney Egere, framed the decision as deliberate rather than circumstantial. According to him, stepping back from relationships and what he called "emotional activities" freed up time and mental space he poured into studying Nigeria's content creation industry.

The 30-year-old comedian said he intends to stay on the path for as long as he can sustain it, crediting discipline and faith rather than personal willpower alone for getting him this far.

Sydney Talker built his name posting comedy skits online starting in 2016, breaking through with a sketch titled "The Poor Power Supply" that earned him early recognition and the nickname "Nigeria's Mr Bean." Since then, he's expanded well beyond skits, founding the record label Neville Records in 2022 and signing artist Khaid as its first act, a signing that's since paid off commercially with Khaid's rise in the Afrobeats scene.
