Julius Agwu reveals sexual dysfunction after 2015 brain surgery
Nigerian comedian and actor Julius Agwu has revealed that he lost sexual function after undergoing brain surgery in the United States in 2015.
He disclosed this in a recent episode of the Beer Parlour Talk Show, while discussing the effects of the health crisis on his body, career and personal life. When asked whether the condition or surgery affected his sexual function, he said his penis stopped working after the procedure.
The comedian said a nerve was cut during the operation, linking the nerve damage to the problem he experienced afterwards. Other guests on the programme also discussed the connection between the nerve involved and the brain. However, no independent medical assessment was provided during the programme to establish the cause of the condition.
The surgery followed the discovery of three tumours in his brain, with one reportedly about the size of a golf ball. He underwent the procedure in the US as part of treatment for the condition.
The latest disclosure came as the entertainer reflected on how the health crisis affected different parts of his life. He also spoke about his contribution to Nigerian comedy, particularly his work combining music and comedy.
“Music comedy na me form am o, that is to tell you how my brain dey work,” he said.
The conversation later became emotional when he spoke about people he said abandoned him during his health struggles. He alleged that some of his friends stopped communicating with him during the period.
“God wey I dey serve, anybody wey get hand for wetin happen to me. I go dey look. My friends deserted me. They stopped talking to me, many of them. It is well,” he said.
The comedian has previously spoken about the brain tumour diagnosis and the effect the illness had on his career and personal life.
