'No Be Today We Dey Do Road' - Burna Boy Claps Back at Critics Over N9bn Bugatti
Burna Boy has responded to backlash over his purchase of a custom 1-of-1 Venuum Widebody Bugatti Chiron, reportedly worth N9 billion.
The Grammy winner, real name Damini Ogulu, faced heavy criticism after the purchase went public. Many accused him of extravagant spending on "vain things" instead of investing or giving to charity.
Others knocked him for importing the exotic car into Nigeria, arguing the country's roads aren't built for such vehicles.
Burna Boy addressed the criticism during a freestyle at the Afronation concert in Portugal on Friday night.
"I buy Bugatti, dem ask which road I go drive am? No be today we dey do road like Julius Berger," he rapped.
The singer's luxury purchases have drawn scrutiny before. He made headlines last year when socialite Sophia Egbueje accused him of reneging on a promise to buy her a Lamborghini in exchange for intimacy.
Burna Boy never confirmed or denied the claims. He instead referenced her "shouting" over a Lamborghini on his song 'No Do.' Egbueje later said she bought the Lamborghini herself.
