Peller Urges Nigerians to Stop Sharing Videos of Captured Bandits
Nigerian online streamer and content creator Peller has appealed to Nigerians and security personnel to stop sharing videos showing captured bandits online, arguing that such content could have unintended consequences for kidnap victims still being held by criminal groups.
In a video that has gained attention on social media, the content creator urged authorities to be cautious when publishing footage of arrested or interrogated suspects.
According to him, members of criminal gangs may view the videos and retaliate against hostages in their custody.
The appeal comes amid the growing circulation of videos from military operations and anti-banditry campaigns across parts of northern Nigeria. Such footage often attracts widespread engagement online, with many users sharing clips of arrests, rescues and security operations.
