Nigerian actress and influencer Priscilla Ojo has responded to Tanzanian fans who asked her to “free” her husband, singer Juma Jux, after noticing his slimmer appearance.

The controversy started after Jux attended the traditional wedding of Nigerian content creators Peller and Jarvis in Lagos, where social media users commented on his changed physique. Some Tanzanian fans expressed concern about the singer’s weight loss and blamed his appearance on his marriage to Priscilla.

One user wrote: “Free Jux. He’s a big artist, and seeing him lose so much weight so suddenly is really worrying and painful for his fans.”

Another commenter compared Jux’s appearance with that of his former partner, Tanzanian singer Vanessa Mdee, writing: “Juma Jux was better with Vanessa Mdee.”

Priscilla, however, responded to several of the comments herself. Replying to one of the users, she wrote, “Aww, your brother loves it here.”

She also responded to another comment with, “Una for talk since, second belle don enter,” while another reply read, “You know what they say about tall and thin men right.”

The exchange came days after Jux had addressed the concerns about his weight himself. On August 5, the singer appeared in a Snapchat video with Priscilla and explained that his weight loss was deliberate.

“There’s nothing wrong with me; this is my weight loss, and it’s what I wanted. I am OK; I don’t want my stomach to be big; I don’t want to be chubby. I like myself now,” Jux said.

His explanation came after his appearance at Peller and Jarvis’ traditional wedding drew attention to the difference between his current physique and his appearance around the time of his wedding to Priscilla.
