Nollywood actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri has debunked reports claiming that she died in an accident, saying she is alive and safe.

The actress addressed the rumour in a video shared on social media after discovering that several accounts had been circulating reports about her alleged death.

“Please note that I am alive. I did not have no accident and I am safe,” she said.

According to the actress, she woke up to find that seven to eight social media accounts had been created and were posting content suggesting that something tragic had happened to her.

She said the people behind the reports knew that she was fine but deliberately chose to spread the rumour.

“They know that nothing happened to me and they decided to spread this rumour. Don’t even bother trying to debunk the news, just report the page,” she said.

Kadiri also expressed her disappointment over the use of social media to spread false claims and wish death on other people.

She said she keeps to herself and appealed to those behind the reports to leave her alone.
