Temitope Osoba’s fiancé claims actress died at police station
The fiancé of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, has claimed that the actress died at a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos.
Onadeko made the claim in a recent interview while addressing reports surrounding Osoba’s death and dismissing speculation that she was poisoned, maltreated or died from complications related to breast cancer.
According to him, he received a midnight call from an unidentified person informing him that Osoba had died at a police station. He said, however, that he was not told exactly which police station was involved.
Onadeko also rejected claims that Osoba had been prevented from driving, saying she drove herself to Iperu shortly before her death.
He further dismissed allegations that the actress was mistreated, including claims that faeces or urine were poured on her as punishment.
Osoba, who died at 40, had previously spoken publicly about her battle with breast cancer after discovering a lump in her breast.
Her health journey attracted public attention in late 2024 when fellow actors, including Foluke Daramola and Alesh Sanni, appealed for financial assistance to help fund her treatment. She underwent surgery and later received further treatment after doctors found that cancerous cells remained.
In August 2025, Osoba announced her return to acting after undergoing treatment. She said subsequent scans showed that the cancer had not spread and that she had eventually been declared cancer-free.
She later marked her 40th birthday in December 2025, reflecting on surviving cancer and describing the milestone as a victory and a blessing.
The circumstances surrounding her death have now generated fresh questions following her fiancé's account, particularly his claim that she died at a police station.
