Nigerian singer Tems has added another major achievement to her career, becoming the most featured African female artist on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The milestone came after her song What You Need entered the chart, giving her a total of seven songs on the popular U.S. ranking list, a record no African woman has reached before.
With this, Tems now stands shoulder to shoulder with Burna Boy and South Africa’s Seether as African acts with the highest number of Billboard Hot 100 appearances.

Her rise has been built on steady international collaborations and growing recognition outside Africa, especially in the United States.

Tems’ global breakthrough began in 2022 when she joined Future and Drake on the hit song Wait For U, which surprisingly opened at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. That moment made her the first African artist to achieve such a debut and pushed her into the global spotlight.

Since then, her voice has continued to appear on major international records, helping her build a strong presence in the global music industry.

Her chart run is not slowing down either. A new song by American rapper J. Cole, Bunce Road Blues, which features Tems and Future, is expected to enter the Billboard Hot 100 in the coming days.
With this latest record, Tems continues to set new standards for African female artists and proves that her influence in global music is still growing.
