Baba Ijesha Breaks Silence After Prison, Says He Was Betrayed
Months after regaining his freedom, Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, better known as Baba Ijesha, has shared his side of the story regarding the case that sent him to prison.
In a video posted on his YouTube channel titled “Eniwaye Dáràn,” the actor suggested that the events leading to his arrest in 2021 were not as straightforward as widely reported. According to him, the situation was orchestrated and eventually turned against him.
The controversy dates back to allegations made by actress Princess, who accused the actor of sexually assaulting her 14-year-old foster daughter, a case that sparked nationwide debate at the time.
In the video, Baba Ijesha claimed he was invited to Princess’ home on April 21, 2021, after being told that his favourite meal had been prepared for him. He also said he was informed there might be a film role available for him.
However, he alleged that the meeting did not unfold as expected and eventually led to his arrest. The actor insisted that the circumstances surrounding the visit were arranged in a way that worked against him.
While recounting the experience, he warned fans about trusting people too easily, saying betrayal from close associates can lead to serious consequences.
Baba Ijesha completed a three-year prison sentence and was released in November 2025. His recent remarks have since stirred fresh reactions online, with many Nigerians once again debating the highly publicised case.
