Nollywood veteran Pete Edochie says Nigeria’s electricity situation is draining his wallet. The 78-year-old shared that powering his home costs him about ₦40,000 every single day, with expenses split between electricity units, diesel, and petrol for generators.

“It’s frustrating. While politicians chase power, ordinary people are left struggling for basic electricity,” he lamented.

Edochie’s experience mirrors the challenges many Nigerians face, especially in areas where households receive just five hours of power daily, forcing them to rely on costly backup generators.
