Nigerian skit maker Shank Comics has claimed that comedians earn more than many music stars.

Speaking during a livestream, he said public perception is misleading, arguing that musicians often appear richer due to their flashy lifestyles.

He cited comedians like Bovi Ugboma and Basketmouth as being wealthier than artistes such as Asake, Wizkid, and Burna Boy.

According to him, comedians focus more on investments and long-term financial stability rather than public displays of wealth.
The claim has since generated mixed reactions online.
